Shift only the SRT cues that need repair

SRT range time shift is for the common situation where a whole subtitle file is not wrong, but one scene, one insert, one edited section, or one translated segment is out of sync. A global time shift would damage the cues that already match the video. This tool lets you target a smaller part of the file and apply an offset only there.

You can define the selected area by cue number, by time window, or by using both filters together. For example, move cue 42 through cue 76 by 1.2 seconds, or shift every cue that overlaps the 10-minute to 12-minute scene. The output remains an ordinary SRT file with the original text preserved and only matching cue timings adjusted.

Use cue numbers and time windows together

Cue numbers are useful when a reviewer tells you exactly which subtitles are early or late. Time windows are better when you know the scene range from the video player. Combining both gives a safer selection because the tool must match the cue number range and the time range before shifting a subtitle.

The default end time is intentionally large so the cue range works immediately. If you want a strict scene window, set the start and end seconds to match the section in the video. Positive offsets move selected cues later, negative offsets move them earlier. Times that would become negative are clamped to the start of the file.

When local shifting beats global shifting

Local shifting is helpful after a short deleted shot, a replaced intro, a new sponsor segment, a recut interview answer, or a translated subtitle file copied from a slightly different version of the video. In those cases the beginning and end may be correct while the middle needs a clean adjustment.

This page is also useful during QA because reviewers often identify a problem by cue number. Instead of opening a full timeline editor for a small mechanical fix, you can paste the SRT, shift the affected range, download the result, and then preview only the repaired section against the video.

Preview after every partial timing change

A range shift can intentionally create a new gap or overlap near the boundaries of the selected section. That may be correct when the video was edited, but it still deserves review. After exporting, check the cue just before the selected range, the first shifted cue, the last shifted cue, and the cue after the range.

Keep a copy of the original file before applying local timing changes. If a scene has gradual drift rather than one clean offset, use the anchor sync tool instead because two correct anchor points can stretch or compress timing across the selected file more naturally than a fixed offset.
